Recent Subpop signees Avi Buffalo are a group of high-schoolers (Just found out they graduated this year) who make sophisticated freak-folk-pop-music. They’re hard to peg in a genre, but one thing is certain, these chiddlers know their stuff.

“Summer Cum,” possibly the best song ever written about the title subject (Suck it, Frankie Goes To Hollywood) will instantly lodge itself deep in the recesses of your brain. Without being too grandiose, I’d say they’ve crafted a pop masterpiece here. That was grandiose, but very true.

Next song - “Where’s Your Dirty Mind?” The solo capping this slow-jam will gently rip your heart in two and melt your face off. This will of course result in your death. Make it more pleasant by having this gem on repeat as you head into the afterlife.

Here’s the deal - these guys have something special going on. Play it on its own merit, but it is worth noting that before Subpop noticed, KSCR was already digging it. And honestly, the songs recorded live in KSCR’s studio A sound gorgeous.
